Chiropractic therapy is one possible solution that provides Multiple Benefits.

Chiropractic therapy directly addresses nerve system functioning and improves the mechanics of the musculoskeletal system. Frequently the result of such wide spread improved functioning is a reduction in a person’s chronic pain, if it is present. Chronic pain relief is often of great benefit to those living with clinical depression.

The improved and enhanced nerve function provided by chiropractic therapy forms the basis for total wellness and well-being. By focusing on biomechanics, your chiropractor helps your body to begin healing itself across a wide range of systems.

As chronic pain begins to fade and resolve, significant pressures are reduced in your brain and other components of your central nerve system. Associated psychological pressures may also be relieved and chronic depression may be lifted as a result of decreased biomechanical stress and decreased physical pain.

Depression is often thought of as a psychological condition. The causes of depression are often sought in the person’s childhood or in her personal circumstances as an adult. But within the last 10 or 20 years, depression is more frequently being evaluated within a physiological context. Various disease states and physical disorders are being recognized as significant contributors to depression. This viewpoint is empowering to people with depression and often provides a way forward when progress has been minimal or absent.

Those with depression may experience both physical and psychological pain. It is well-documented that chronic physical pain can lead to depression. Also, it is very well-known that depressive states can cause physical pain. A feedback loop (vicious cycle) is frequently created in which physical pain makes a person’s depression worse and the person’s depression makes the physical pain worse.

In addition, changes in brain physiology can cause a person to be depressed. In other words, abnormal electrical activity in the brain – which, of course, is not under the person’s conscious control – may result in depression. The brain’s electrical activity is evaluated by a method known as quantitative EEG (QEEG).1 For those with clinical depression, the QEEG often demonstrates too much slow-wave activity in the left front brain (prefrontal cortex) and too much fast-wave activity in the right prefrontal cortex.

Being a person with chronic clinical depression all of my life, I am personally able to share that for those with clinical depression, the light of the world is considerably dimmed. The mood of a depressed person is low and he loses interest in normally pleasurable activities. Depressive disorders interfere with a person’s work and/or school activities, family life and social life, and overall health. Lack of energy, lack of appetite, and decreased physical activity are all associated with clinical depression. I have experienced all of these symptoms from time to time.

An access to relieving chronic depression may be found in encouraging the person to begin to engage in physical activity.2,3 Such activity may be difficult for those who are severely depressed, and yet all persons with depression should attempt to work with this form of therapy.

Additionally, chiropractic therapy may be of great benefit for those with clinical depression. The pain relief and improved musculoskeletal function afforded by chiropractic therapy may help reduce the physical component of ongoing depression. It definitely has helped me to some extent and I would recommend this therapy for people dealing with ongoing depression.

I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that most diseases/illnesses are associated with inflammation and toxins within our bodies, even depression. I am in line for Alzheimers and Dementia through family genes, but I firmly believe that we should be responsible for our own health and can change those family hand-me-downs. One of the greatest health solutions for inflammation and toxins within our bodies is glutathione. We cannot take glutathione directly because its molecule is too large to enter our cells; also it is destroyed within the digestive system before it can significantly reach the necessary organs of our bodies.

Scientists and doctors have been researching and looking for a way to introduce glutathione into our bodies for a very long time since it is so necessary for total wellness and life itself. Also, glutathione production in our bodies begins to decrease at the age of 20 years old and continues to decrease significantly due to stress, environmental pollutants, cigarette smoke, diet, exercise, chemical toxins, illness and aging. So you should be able to see that it is very important to our total wellness, aging process and life itself.

Fortunately, a renowned doctor and scientist working on the same research for glutathione production in our bodies for the past 25 plus years were able to provide a solution to this much needed glutathione in the body. It was not brought to the pharmaceutical world because so often, they bury significant discoveries in order to retain their bottom line of making money. Instead, this discovery/solution was brought to men who recognize unique, breakthrough products and who had plenty of financial backing to bring this discovery to the world. That product is MaxGXL (1st generation of product) and/or MaxOne (2nd generation of product) and the product supports our body’s structure and function so that the body can perform as it was made to do and heal itself. It allows our body to produce its very own glutathione and recycle it, as well. Nothing else out there can do this. Inflammation and toxins are a thing of the past with glutathione. It is also a mood lifter for depression.

We are born into this world with glutathione and we die without glutathione. A powerful antioxidant, it is called the Master Antioxidant by scientists, it is working hard to keep every cell in your body safe from free radical damage and oxidative stress. Oxidative stress has been associated with more than 74 major diseases and disorders. It is produced naturally in our cells if the required building blocks are available. Among its many functions, it strengthens the immune system, detoxifies the body, fights intracellular inflammation, and neutralizes numerous types of free radicals. Do not be without this greatest discovery for total wellness in our lifetime.

Although we cannot cure or treat any disease or illness, we can and do say that this glutathione accelerator product does support the structure and functions in the body. Therefore, the body can then heal itself, which it was created to be able to do. When we load it with so much chemical toxins, pollutants, stress, illness/disease, in addition to the aging process, the body is so burdened that it can no longer do what it was created to be able to do with the power it used to have. Thus, that is why this glutathione accelerator product is so important for total wellness, aging and life inself.

I cared for my father for 2 years in my home before his death. Of course, I tried to do everything in my power to make him comfortable and keep him as healthy as possible. When his doctor did some blood tests on Dad, he found that he was very low in Vitamin D, even though we live in Colorado where the sun shines almost everyday, even in the winter. I even made sure that my Dad sat out on the front porch in the sun to give him as much sunlight as possible. Nevertheless, his Vitamin D levels were extremely low.

Whether provided by sunlight, foods or nutritional supplements, vitamin D is an extremely necessary vitamin that functions in a number of beneficial roles for the body. Sadly, current national stats show that 70% and more of Americans have extremely insufficient levels of vitamin D. This may be due to modern lifestyle behaviors like working indoors for extended periods of time and heavy use of sunscreen—these two items alone block our body’s ability to manufacture vitamin D. What’s more, a lot of evidence points to the fact that vitamin D deficiency is widespread, affecting individuals of all ages from children to the elderly.

Why is Vitamin D So Necessary?

Vitamin D builds and maintains strong bones by enhancing calcium absorption
Helps the immune system function at its best
Maintains breast, colon and prostate health
Supports healthy muscle cells
Helps maintain joint and muscle comfort
Promotes healthy mood and brain function

Food Source of Vitamin D
Foods provide minimal amounts of vitamin D—a reasonable explanation for why vitamin D deficiency is so prevalent. In fact, we may need to consume excessive amounts of these vitamin D sources in order to meet our vitamin D needs. For example, it could take up to 20 glasses of milk or 10 ounces of salmon per day to fulfill our daily vitamin D requirement. Not an easy way to get our Vitamin D needs met.

Food Source Amount Per Serving
Cod liver oil 1,360 IU per tablespoon
Cooked salmon 360 IU per 3.5 ounces
Fortified milk 98 IU per cup
Eggs 20 IU per online 1 whole egg

Vitamin D comes in two forms: Vitamin D2 and Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3—most commonly found in dietary supplements—is the preferred form because it is better used by your body to carry out its important roles.

Recommended dosage for adults

1000-2000 IU per day of vitamin D3 taken with food

Are you at risk for vitamin D deficiency?

You may be at risk if you:

experience limited sun exposure and wear sunscreen
are 65 years of age and older
live in a nursing home
are exposed to air pollution
are overweight or obese

Talk to you doctor. Your doctor can determine your vitamin D status with a simple blood test.
Be responsible for your own health and consider taking a vitamin D supplement as part of a healthy supplement regimen.

I made sure that my Dad took his Vitamin D3 every single day. Even though he had COPD, Cancer and Dementia, he remained reasonably healthy until a week before his death. He was still walking, talking, singing as much as he possibly could clear up until the end.

Take your Vitamin D3 every single day.

It’s been almost 6 months now since Daddy died (March 11, 2009). I wasn’t even over my grieving for my Mom who died a year before Daddy (March 21, 2008). The past 8 to 10 years have been some of the roughest, and yet, some of the greatest times spent with my parents. I was chosen to be the caregiver for my parents and I am grateful.

Mom and Dad moved back to Colorado in 1998, after living in Texas for 10 years. Dad was feeling like their health was deteriorating (Mom had a breast removed) and he wasn’t sure that he could handle everything. I was so thrilled to have them back nearby.

We really enjoyed being able to visit often, going to dinner together, having holidays together again and just spending time with the whole family…my Mom, my Dad, my Mother-in-Law and our 4 children. Brothers and sisters came out to visit when they could….from MN, IL, CA and it was super.

In 2000, way too soon, my Mom began showing signs of forgetfulness. Alzheimers runs in our family and she had always worried that she would be like her mother with Alzheimers. And sure enough, she was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2001. I wish I had known about glutathione back then. What a dreadful disease…..helplessly I watched my Mom through the entire loss of her memories, her ability to form full sentences, her FEAR when she realized very frequently in the early stages that she was “losing everything” as she said so often. She began to wander a bit and Daddy would find her in some neighbor’s home. She would be frightened and not know who Daddy was so she didn’t want to go with him. She could no longer cook and Daddy had to always check the stove to be sure it was turned off. He would call me several times a week to come over because he couldn’t stop Mom from crying. I would go over, hold Mom in my arms and rock her, telling her that I would always be here for her whenever she needed me. Eventually, she would stop crying and I could coax a little laughter out of her.

Of course, I tried everything I could think of….medical treatments such as Namenda (I ordered it from Germany because it had not yet been approved here in the USA) and it did seem to help a bit. Mom couldn’t take the other treatments because they made her very ill physically. I made sure that Mom took vitamins, the very best that I could find at the time. I replaced all their chemically-laced toxic cleaners and personal care items with environmentally-safe products and I’m sure it was better for them, but probably way too late to do much good.

Mom complained about her leg hurting and she would cry asking us to please have her leg cut off. I would explain that we couldn’t cut her leg off but we would try to alleviate the pain. Her doctor gave her some arthritis med treatment but it didn’t do any good. He even gave her cortisone shots but they didn’t help at all. Finally, I tried one of my alternative health solution products and within a week, she no longer was complaining about the pain, her leg was no longer buckling under her and she was feeling just great.

I began looking for ways to keep her active and also secure. My Dad was becoming exhausted trying to take care of her and he needed breaks. I began contacting different kinds of senior care help, the Alzheimers Association, longterm health care, Adult Protection Agency and many others to learn what I could setup to help my Mom and Dad.

Watch for my next Post for this senior care help information. And please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more about Alzheimers and the solutions/hardships endured during this journey.

Be healthy and happy!

MaxGXL provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body’s own ability to manufacture and absorb glutathione. MaxGXL also aids in liver support, thus helping the liver to function as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione.

Increasing Age and Other Factors Reduce the Body’s Production and Utilization of GSH. Research has shown that individuals who have low levels of glutathione are susceptible to chronic illness. Research shows that GSH levels decline by 8% to 12% per decade, beginning at the age of 20. Levels of glutathione are further reduced by continual stress upon the immune system such as illness, infection, and environmental toxins. As we now know, a lowered immune system can bring about illness and disease. This is a ferocious cycle. While you need glutathione for a productive immune system, a weakened immune system hampers the production of glutathione.

Supplements Containing Glutathione Alone Will NOT Increase The Body’s GSH Levels. It is pointless to purchase supplements that merely contain glutathione, because the digestive system breaks down ingested glutathione and it will not be absorbed into your system. On the other hand, MaxGXL™ provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body’s own ability to manufacture and absorb glutathione. MaxGXL™ also aids in liver support by destroying environmental poisons helping the liver to function as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione.

I can’t stress enough how important your glutathione levels are to your health and your aging. Disease/illnesses are building up in our bodies daily over the years and may eventually manifest in our body. I do not want to end my last years like my Mom and Dad with Alzheimers/Dementia/Cancer or my grandparents with Heart Attack and other illnesses. The quality of their lives in the end years was horrible and way too many people think they will be the ones to escape but with all the pollutants, toxic chemicals, pesticides, and I could go on and on, most of us will NOT escape.

Do yourself and your loved ones a HUGE favor and check out how to increase your glutathione levels (also helps to increase your DHEA)…WOW!

I designed and implemented a special Alzheimers/Dementia website dedicated to my parents, Elwood and Alice Godfrey. My hope is to make it a Charity where donations and proceeds from my businesses go to help in the research for a cure or health management of Alzheimers.

Spirit of Life Foundation

I cared for my Mom and Dad for about 10 years, helping them in their own home for several years and then in a Secure Assisted Living facility for less than a year. Unfortunately, my Mom was placed in a sister facility (nursing home) and was damaged beyond hope in less than 2 days. We did all we could to bring her back to the way she was before she went into the nursing home but there was too much damage from lack of care, negligence, not following up with the doctor’s orders and much more. By the time I got her out of there and into a hospital, she was almost dead.

She was completely malnourished and dehydrated. The only hope we had was to put a feeding tube into her stomach. She lived another year and 3 months. And she did gain a tiny bit of recognition of her loved ones and a small ability to talk sometimes, but she never walked again and she was constantly in danger of aspiration/pneumonia/etc. I moved her to another nursing home (it was like night and day from the first home) and they loved her and cared for her like she were their own Mom. I am grateful to them.

We took my Dad home to live with us for the next 2 years. He had been diagnosed with Dementia, COPD, esophageal cancer, and finally with liver cancer. No one expected him to live as long as he did and in as good health as he was those last couple of years….but then, I am an alternative health consultant and advocate.

I finally did have to put him in the same nursing home (2nd one) that my Mom had been in and they cared for him and loved him so very much. He only lived another 6 months there. But I was with him so much of the time, just like I was for my Mom.

They are together now and I will continue my journey and mission to help others to live a better and longer quality of life. There is no excuse for suffering with terrible health when there are so many options for health and life.

Take care of yourself and your family!

Warmly,
